Your training: my priority as an instructor

Private scuba instructor

When you get in the water with me, you are not just another number in a huge group. I work with you side by side so you become a safe, competent diver. If you come with your people, the group is yours: you set the pace.

Safety is not only theory. It is dive planning, gear checks, communication between buddies and good technique underwater. In my training there is no rush and no schedule dictated by a crowded dive centre. We will take the time you need so you leave the water with a high standard as a diver.

Technique and control underwater are built slowly: practising buoyancy, improving air consumption, learning clear communication and staying calm. My priority is that you leave with real skills and resources, not only something on paper.

FAQ

Before you book

Answers from what the courses, the booking form and the terms already say. Anything still undecided is marked.

Do I need experience?

Open Water Diver is for people with no previous diving experience. Advanced Open Water and Stress & Rescue require an Open Water Diver certification. You state your experience on the request, and the instructor may decline it if the level does not match what you declared.

What is the minimum age?

Open Water Diver: minimum age 10, with consent if you are a minor, and you need to be able to swim. Advanced Open Water and Stress & Rescue: minimum age 12 and an Open Water certification. All three courses require you to be cleared by the medical questionnaire.

What is included?

The course includes a private instructor, the required equipment, insurance during the course and the certification fees. It does not include meals, accommodation or transport.

What certification do I get?

The official certification is SSI Scuba. Open Water prepares you to dive to 18 metres; Advanced, to 30 metres, and covers buoyancy, navigation, deep diving, night diving and fish or wreck identification. Each course lasts 3 days and includes 5 dives. Stress & Rescue covers stress, incident prevention, emergencies, self-rescue and rescuing other divers.

What should I bring?

For the course we ask for a swimsuit, a towel and reef-safe sunscreen, and that you tell us beforehand about any medical condition, allergy or prescription glasses. The course equipment is included. To be confirmed: whether you need to bring anything else on the first day.

What if I cancel, or the weather is bad?

If you cancel, the 100€ deposit per student is not refunded: it covers the place and the days that were blocked. If the instructor cancels the course, the deposit is refunded in full. The schedule may change because of weather or logistics. To be confirmed: what happens if bad weather postpones the course without cancelling it.

How do I book and pay?

Choose the course and the start day: it runs for 3 days in a row, and a request can include up to 4 students. It stays pending approval and does not lock the date until the deposit arrives. The deposit is 100€ per student, by Bizum (put the booking code in the reference) or PayPal, and you send the receipt on WhatsApp. You have 24 hours to pay; after that the place may be released. Places are assigned in the order the deposits are received. The estimated total is 400 to 500€ per person and the rest is paid in person. Nothing is charged automatically. Courses are at Puerto La Marina, Palamós. To be confirmed: the exact meeting point inside the harbour.
